His research focuses on the behaviour of coral reef fishes, bioacoustics, the effects of climate change on marine ecosystems, fisheries, conservation and management. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Following a <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nerc.ac.uk\/funding\/available\/schemes\/kefellows\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">NERC Knowledge Exchange Fellowship<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Steve has ongoing links with industry and policy on the themes of European Fisheries and Climate Change, and Anthropogenic Noise and Marine Ecosystems. Steve works closely with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cefas.co.uk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cefas<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.metoffice.gov.uk\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Met Office<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, and is an active member of the <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.scor-int.org\/IQOE_Science_Committee.htm\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">IQOE Science Committee<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, he has been an Academic Advisor and featured scientist in <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/programmes\/p04tjbtx\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Blue Planet 2<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Steve\u2019s work combines fieldwork, often through expeditions to remote and challenging environments around the world, with laboratory-based behaviour experiments, data-mining, and computer modelling.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Steve\u2019s research focuses on:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li organisms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Dispersal, connectivity and biogeography.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span
