We also discussed some of the key points of the IPCC&#8217;s latest climate change report. For example, the National Trust have introduced their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/features\/living-with-change-our-shifting-shores\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shifting Shores<\/a> project, where they will now be focusing on adapting to changes at their coastal sites, rather than trying to prevent change.<\/p>\n<p>For those of us in Cornwall, Mullion harbour wall is a particularly relevant example, you can read about the challenges the National Trust have faced with this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationaltrust.org.uk\/features\/mullion-cove---adapting-to-climate-change\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2012, Catherine co-authored a paper going into greater depth about this, which you can find here:<span class=\"NLM_article-title hlFld-title\"><i>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/01426397.2012.697137\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shifting Shores<\/a><\/i>: Managing Challenge and Change on the Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall, UK<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p>As Ethan mentioned in the episode, we are seeing some other actions, such as:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/us-netherlands-climatechange-law\/dutch-parliament-to-set-target-of-95-percent-co2-reduction-by-2050-idUSKBN1JN1X5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Dutch parliament to set target of 95 percent CO2 reduction by 2050<\/a>. Catherine&#8217;s work on climate change is interesting for many reasons, but one aspect\u00a0that really makes it stand out\u00a0is its focus on local communities here in Cornwall.
