Professor Paul Cornish was a guest speaker at an Employers’ Conference held by the East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association on 22 August at Royal Air Force Marham. The aim of the conference was to consider the role of reservists and the impact on employers of the various levels of call-up in response to ‘increased tension’, ‘conflict’ and ‘war’. Professor Cornish spoke on The International and Geopolitical Context in the light of which the forthcoming UK Strategic Defence Review will be prepared. The second speaker was General Lord Dannatt, former Chief of the General Staff, who spoke on UK national defence options. A report of the conference will be submitted to the Defence Review Team, currently undertaking external consultation.
