He is well connected to Defra and industry stakeholders as a member of Natural England board and, in 2018, of the Godfray Review of Bovine TB policy. He co-led Defra\u2019s \u00a34.5m Sustainable Intensification Research Platform 2014-18, has researched food supply chains and food miles and is currently leading a research project on livestock markets (with Matt Lobley). His 2019 book with Matt Lobley on \u2018The Changing World of Farming in Brexit UK\u2019 examines contemporary food production issues and food markets.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/socialsciences.exeter.ac.uk\/politics\/staff\/winter\/\">More about Prof. Michael Winter<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Prof. Matt Lobley \u2013 Co-Investigator<\/h3>\n<p>Matt Lobley, Professor of Rural Resource Management and Director of the Centre for Rural Policy Research, has extensive experience of researching farming and food issues. He is an expert on family businesses, has worked on the circular economy and the agri-food sector (EPSRC), reviews of the food economy in Devon and Cornwall, major studies of the economic and market aspects of organic farming (Defra) and is currently leading a project on farmer collaboration (Defra). He is a member of two Defra expert panels.\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/socialsciences.exeter.ac.uk\/politics\/staff\/lobley\/\">More about Prof. Matt\u00a0Lobley<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Dr. Tim Wilkinson \u2013 Co-Investigator<\/h3>\n<p>Tim Wilkinson is a CRPR Research Fellow leading an Interreg project on tourism. He has worked on a range of research projects within CRPR since obtaining his PhD in Human Geography in 2015.<\/p>\n<h3>Dr. Steven Guilbert \u2013 Research Fellow<\/h3>\n<p>Steven Guilbert is an environmental and cultural geographer by training with a longstanding interest in \u2018wholescape\u2019 and integrated approaches to environmental management who works at the interface of policy and practice.\u00a0 His twin primary interests are in rural and marine geography.\u00a0 He splits his time equally between working as an independent research consultant and managing the Devon Maritime Forum.\u00a0 He has worked on numerous research projects over the past 15 years, including the Sustainable Intensification Research Platform 2014-18, has a very extensive network of local and national contacts, and has worked for a broad range of clients in academia, and the public, private and charity sectors.<\/p>\n<h3>Ms. Emma Tranter \u2013 Project Administrator<\/h3>\n<p>Emma joined the University in January 2016 and currently\u00a0works in a variety of roles.\u00a0 In addition to her Project Administrator position she is PA to Professors Matt Lobley, Harry West and Michael Winter and Centre Administrator for the Centre for Rural Policy Research (CRPR)\u00a0 and a Research Administrator in the Institute of Biomedical and Clinical Science.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prof. Michael Winter OBE \u2013 Principal Investigator Michael Winter, Professor of Land Economy &amp; Society, has written extensively on food and agriculture, including a Nuffield report on food culture in 2018 with a foreword by Professor Sir Ian Boyd, Defra Chief Scientist.
