I am really enjoying Exeter and particularly love being a part of the University Officer Training Corps. I also love playing hockey, dancing and care a lot about the environment. I am honoured to be chairing this year\u2019s conference which promotes global co-operation in humanities education on pressing global matters. I can\u2019t wait to meet all the nominated students from across the UK and China and hope they will enjoy the conference we have organised. I sincerely hope that HEYTA 2024 will help to make connections between people with diverse backgrounds and provide fresh insight on interconnectivity, Interculturality, digitalisation and sustainability.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Katy Humberstone<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n “I’m a third-year PhD candidate in the Department of Languages, Cultures, and Visual Studies. My research is kindly supported by the South, West, and Wales Doctoral Partnership. I have an academic background in the maintenance and revival of minority languages and cultures. At Exeter, I have taught across Modern Languages, Sociology and Anthropology, and Communication programmes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Ahead of HEYTA 2024, I am looking forward to supporting the important work of the UK-CHA and facilitating knowledge-sharing of some timely topics which have importance globally.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n Josh Taylor<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n “I am studying for my PhD in the Languages, Cultures, and Visual Studies (LCVS) department at Exeter. My research investigates the effects of linguistic diversity on perceptions of national identity in an educational context. I am interested in multilingualism, identity, education, and intercultural communication, reflected in my role as a Postgraduate Teaching Associate, as I primarily teach on modules relating to these areas. All my university studies have been at Exeter, and I am now under the supervision of Francesco Goglia (primary supervisor) and Gabriela Meier (secondary supervisor). Apart from my research and teaching, I enjoy various cultural activities.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Wenyu Li<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n “I am a first-year PhD student in the School of Education at the University of Exeter. I also completed my master’s degree in International Education at the University of Exeter. Since then, my research has focused on inclusive education, particularly educational equity and development. I am fortunate to be guided by my lead supervisor, George Koutsouris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I am excited to be part of the student committee for HEYTA 2024. I look forward to connecting with all participants and fostering a collaborative learning environment. I believe HEYTA 2024 will provide valuable insights into interconnectivity, interculturality, digitalization, and sustainability.
