Lara Fricke’s PhD research in Palestine Studies focuses on the denial and silencing of Palestinians in post-Holocaust Germany, linking them to the Holocaust memory culture as well as to colonial power structures. Her work encompasses Memory Studies, Decolonial Studies, Affect theory, Gender Studies and Genocide Studies. Lara’s most recent publications are “Insisting on Uniqueness: Shame and Guilt in German Memory Culture and the Denial of Palestinian Perspectives” and “Gaza in the light of German Holocaust Memory Culture.” She also has an upcoming book chapter on Epistemicide of Decolonial knowledge on Palestine in Germany (planned for 2024/25).
