How did hosting an intern via the Professional Pathways programme benefit you and your organisation/department?

Our intern arrived at the perfect time! We were developing a new company website (www.venturenomix.com) and there were many diverse tasks to undertake to make that project successful. Our intern worked on competitor research, look & feel of the website, content creation, image selection, SEO and more. Her work was excellent – and we really enjoyed her company – so much so that we kept her on for an addition 35 hours of work with us to complete all the tasks we had set.

How was your experience of hosting a Pathways intern?

Our intern worked remotely for the duration of her time with us. We made sure to prepare thoroughly before her first day – mapping our her tasks and a collaborative working space using Miro. We set up an online chat though Google Chat so that we were all in regular contact – this really helps when there are quick questions or clarifications.

The team running the Pathways Internship really went the extra mile, in a few ways. Firstly, they matched our internship brief to the intern and allocated us the best candidate – this saved us a huge amount of time (selecting and interviewing). This was most welcome! Secondly, the internship team managed all of the payment and PAYE aspects, saving us the admin burden – again – most welcome!

We made sure to have regular catchups each morning and at the end of the day. We also ensured that different members of our team worked with Lola to introduce her to different aspects of the business.
