The National Institute of Health and Care Research Exeter Biomedical Research Centre  (NIHR Exeter BRC), hosted by the  Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, has partnered with the University of Exeter and in collaboration with NHS organisations across the South West. As the first centre of its kind in the South West peninsula, its primary objective is to improve health outcomes for patients and the public by translating scientific breakthroughs into new treatments, diagnostics, and medical technologies. 

What was your biggest achievement on your internship? 

I completed a scoping review assignment independently.  

Were there any challenges and how did you overcome these?  

There were some difficulties with search protocols but after discussing with my supervisor we managed to alter them to find useful results. 

What were your reasons for undertaking this internship?   

  • To gain experience and knowledge within a specific occupation or field. 
  • To improve my job prospects by expanding my CV.

As a result of my internship…  

  • My job prospects have improved by expanding my CV and what I can draw upon in 

 interviews.
