Name of Student: Alexander

Job Title: Marine Wildlife Engagement Officer

Description of Organisation:

The Rock Pool Project is a social enterprise that encourages people of all ages to discover the incredible marine life found around our beautiful coast. Their expert marine biologists offer bespoke private rockpool safaris, educational group field trips and public beach events.

What was your biggest achievement on your internship?

I have become much more confident in communicating with others. During my internship, I had the opportunity to engage with lots of new people, both within and outside of the Rock Pool Project team, to coordinate events, manage administrative tasks and more.

Were there any challenges and how did you overcome these?

The biggest challenge I faced was communicating with new people, but I gradually overcame it. With each email I sent I became more confident and over time, the process felt much easier and more natural.

Would you recommend this internship scheme to other students?

Yes, I would definitely recommend this internship scheme to other students. It provided me with a great experience  and I was able to secure another summer internship with the same company. This shows how the scheme can open doors to further opportunities or even a permanent role.
