What was your biggest achievement on your internship?  

My biggest achievement was hosting student employability seminars, inviting speakers for these seminars, hosting student mixer events for those heading away on Professional Placement Years and collaborating with CGES Ambassadors.  

Were there any challenges and how did you overcome these?   

 Occasionally, I was unsure what tasks to complete or move on to but I quickly rectified this with regular meetings with line managers. 

What were your reasons for undertaking this internship?    

  • To build new connections. 
  • To improve my job prospects by expanding my CV and what I can draw upon in interviews.  
  • To earn money.

Yes, I would recommend this internship scheme to other students. It’s a great way to build stronger connections with academics in your department while developing your own employability skills and knowledge by supporting other students with theirs. It also gives you a greater appreciation for placement opportunities.
