How did your interns make a positive contribution?
Gina was a fantastic addition to the team, she worked well with everyone and was hard working and so we managed to get projects and work load completed at a more efficient pace. Gina was vital to some of our crayfish work, she helped us finish our Ark site ready for animals to go in and helped with the management of our breeding hatchery. She was also signed off on handling the animals which will help her in the future if she goes on to help with surveying towards a personal Class license.
Summary of your experience:
Brilliant, was a pleasure to work with your student. She be an asset to the conservation industry if she goes into that sector.
Feedback about the scheme:Ā
The A2i scheme was an outstanding initiative that provided essential support to conservation projects through funded internships. At Wildwood Devon, having access to a funded intern was incredibly valuable, allowing us to advance critical conservation work while offering meaningful, hands-on experience to emerging professionals in the field. The reliability and structure of the A2i programme meant we could depend on high-quality support, helping us achieve real progress in our mission to protect and restore British wildlife.
