Name of Student: Lucy Facer
Job Title: Green Phoenix Festival Intern
Job Summary:
I monitored the festival inbox, communicating with community groups and stakeholders about the event to create a programme of free workshops, talks, stalls and interactive activities. Creating posters and other marketing materials for the festival. Meeting with community groups to organise session logistics.
What was your biggest achievement on your internship?
I successfully programmed and worked the day of the festival which had around 300 attendees and received positive feedback. I was proud to be nominated for a Student Employment award by my line manager.
Would you recommend this internship scheme to other students?
Yes, I would recommend the scheme to other students.
The A2i scheme was hugely valuable in helping me to secure a 140 hour internship in a creative sector when I did not previously know where to look for these opportunities, especially as the university’s funding meant this was a paid role so I did not need to work another part-time job alongside it.
If you would like to find out more about the A2i scheme, you can contact the team via a2i@exeter.ac.uk, or you can also visit the student and employer facing webpages here.
