Please briefly outline the project/tasks/responsibilities you worked on during your Professional Pathways internship:
“During my internship with Venturenomix, I worked on a range of marketing projects including designing webpages for Digital Health and Life Sciences, creating an interactive eligibility quiz, and carrying out competitor analysis. I also interviewed experts to develop content, wrote a Success Story on BaseRx, and gained valuable insight into marketing strategy through discussions with the founder and wider team.”
How has the Professional Pathways programme helped you in taking the next steps in your career?
“The programme helped me refine the area of marketing I am most interested in. The training gave me useful background knowledge, while the internship allowed me to apply it in practice and gain clarity about the type of marketing roles I would like to pursue in the future.”
Given the Professional Pathways internship is 35 hours in total, what advice would you give to other students to ensure they gain as much as possible from the experience?
“Make sure you are clear on the tasks you are set and how long they are expected to take. I found completing my internship within a single week helped me stay focused and productive, but it is worth considering how you work best if you are given flexibility over the timeframe. Structuring the 35 hours in a way that suits your working style will help you get the most out of the experience.”
What advice would you give to a student who has to complete an internship via remote or hybrid working?
“Make sure you set up a good working space that is as free from distractions as possible. Don’t be afraid to check in with your line manager regularly, even multiple times a day, to stay connected, ask questions, and get feedback.”
Why would you recommend the Professional Pathways programme to other students?
“I would recommend the Professional Pathways programme because it offers the chance to gain real-world experience in a supportive environment. The training, combined with the internship, helped me build confidence, develop practical skills, and explore career options. It is also a great way to make professional connections and create work you can talk about in future job interviews.”
