What was your biggest achievement on your internship?
I learned new laboratory skills, one of which included photographing plankton with a Flow Cam. Not only did this experience increase my confidence in a lab setting, as I was allowed to undertake this task individually alongside another intern, but we also achieved the most runs completed in a day. It was very rewarding knowing we had supported research, were trusted enough to undertake this task alone and worked at a pace which impressed our supervisors.
Were there any challenges and how did you overcome these?
Learning the new skills in the lab was quite daunting, but with help from my supervisors and bouncing ideas between my fellow intern, this was something I was able to overcome quickly
