We are interested in optimising exercise, physical activity, and sport across a range of different paediatric groups, including healthy school aged children, children with chronic diseases and talented young athletes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Type of Internship:<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.exeter.ac.uk\/careers\/internships\/scp\/\">Student Campus Partnerships (SCPs) \u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>What were your key duties and responsibilities during your internship?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Developing testing protocol for the England Athletics Youth Talent Programme athlete profiling days. Developing infographics to be given to athletes on the YTP.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What outputs and outcomes did you deliver for your\u00a0employer?\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Outputs= a presentation enclosing all testings to be used on the profiling days.<\/p>\n<p>Outcomes= a battery of tests has been produced ad confirmed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Skills Learnt:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Problem Solving<\/li>\n<li>Teamwork and Collaboration<\/li>\n<li>Persuasion<\/li>\n<li>Researching<\/li>\n<li>Time and Work Load Management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Attributes Developed:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Logical thinking<\/li>\n<li>Confidence<\/li>\n<li>Initiative<\/li>\n<li>Independence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Your message to other students considering a similar job role,\u00a0organisation\u00a0or sector?<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Throughout June, I was fortunate enough to complete at 4-week internship at the Children\u2019s Health and Exercise Research Centre (CHERC), in partnership with England Athletics. Over the 4 weeks, I worked alongside another intern developing testing protocols for the England Athletics Youth Talent Programme (YTP) athlete profiling days. The battery of tests developed will be used to aid the athlete selection process. I am grateful to have worked on such an exciting project and I am wishing the best of luck to all young athletes applying to he YTP. The 4-week internship also involved the production of infographics that will be given to athletes enrolling on the YTP. The infographics covered social media use, time management and communication within the YTP.
