Please briefly outline the project\/tasks\/responsibilities you worked on during your Professional Pathways internship.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“During my 35-hour internship at AMBITIOUS PR, I had the opportunity to work with different members of the team across a wide variety of projects and tasks, which gave me a valuable insight into the day-to-day work of a B2B PR and marketing agency. These tasks included video editing, writing a press release, carrying out competitor analysis, creating SEO-focused blog content using Surfer SEO, producing industry news for the company newsletter, and completing a personal branding task. I was given a lot of responsibility and trusted to take on meaningful tasks which, although initially nerve racking, was incredibly beneficial in building my confidence and encouraging me to challenge myself. I also gained an introduction to SEO and GEO, as well as an understanding of how AI is influencing content creation and the ways brands engage with their audiences.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How has the Professional Pathways programme helped you in taking the next steps in your career? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The training provided a great introduction to the different areas of marketing. Hearing from professionals about their roles, career journeys and experiences helped me understand the variety of opportunities available within the industry. The 35-hour internship then gave me the opportunity to apply and build on what I had learnt in a professional agency environment. Coming from a Biological Sciences background, the programme helped me recognise how transferable many of my skills from my degree are, particularly research, analysis and communicating complex information in an accessible way. Together the training and internship have given me a much clearer picture of what a career in marketing and communications can look like, while helping me identify areas I would like to continue to develop as I take my next steps.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What achievement(s) were you particularly proud of during your Pathways internship? <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

“I think having no previous marketing experience was definitely the thing that I was most nervous about, and ultimately why I signed up for the programme. I am really proud of how quickly I was able to adapt to tasks that were completely new to me and and how much I managed to learn and complete in such a short space of time. A particular highlight was seeing the industry news that I had written actually published in AMBITIOUS PR’s monthly newsletter. I had expected it to be a practice task to help me learn, so seeing my work actually being used by the company was incredibly rewarding and definitely a confidence boost.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given the Professional Pathways internship is 35 hours in total, what advice would you give to other students to ensure they gain as much as possible from the experience?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Go in with a positive attitude and be ready to take it all in! Say yes to tasks, even if they sound daunting at first, there is always support there if you need it. It’s only 35 hours, so work hard, get involved and make the most of the incredible opportunity you worked hard to get.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why would you recommend the Professional Pathways programme to other students?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I would recommend the programme because it provides an incredibly valuable combination of industry knowledge, practical experience and exposure to professionals working across the different areas of marketing. It is particularly valuable for students who may be unsure of their career direction or want to explore opportunities outside the traditional routes associated with their degree. For me, it increased my confidence, helped me recognise my transferable skills and gave me a much clearer understanding of what a career in marketing and communications could look like.”<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
