Soul Float provides a calm, private environment where clients can relax and reset from the demands of everyday life.\u00a0Founded in 2026, Soul Float is a small independent business currently run by a small team. The centre focuses on creating a welcoming and high-quality customer experience and building a strong presence within the local community.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Please briefly outline the project\/tasks\/responsibilities you worked on during your Professional Pathways internship.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;<em>Across the placement I worked on:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><em>Customer Journey Improvements, reviewing the website, booking flow and FAQs, and designing a new testimonial section now live on the homepage.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>UK Floatation Market Research, analysing leading UK float centres to strengthen Soul Float\u2019s positioning.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Tourism Partnership Strategy, building a pipeline of 25+ accommodation providers, mapping guest profiles to Soul Float\u2019s personas and sending personalised outreach emails to high value prospects to support summer season bookings.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Designed a full suite of professionally branded advertising materials (informative flyers, rainy day activity cards, welcome book inserts and couples experience designs) for distribution across hotels, guesthouses, B&amp;Bs and holiday let agencies.<\/em><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><em>Student Market Strategy, mapping priority student groups and creating tailored messaging and campaign ideas.&#8221;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>How has the Professional Pathways programme helped you in taking the next steps in your career?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;This experience significantly improved my employability by giving me practical marketing experience beyond the classroom and theory. Throughout the programme, I developed a stronger understanding of key marketing areas, including market research, digital strategy, consumer behaviour, branding, and professional communication.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>A particularly valuable part was working as part of a team to tackle a real business challenge for Wavemind during the training. Conducting research, analysing insights, and presenting our recommendations directly to the company&#8217;s Director strengthened my problem-solving, teamwork, presentation delivery, and client-facing communication skills.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The programme also enabled me to learn from industry professionals, giving me a clearer understanding of the marketing sector and the skills employers look for. I have also applied many of these skills during my marketing placement with Soul Float, where I conducted market research and supported marketing activities for a growing business. Combining real-world project work, industry insights, and placement experience has strengthened both my practical skill set and my commercial awareness.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>As I approach graduation, I feel more confident in my ability to apply academic knowledge in a professional environment and contribute effectively within a marketing role from day one.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>What achievement(s) were you particularly proud of during your Pathways internship?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;The achievement I am most proud of during my Pathways internship was developing the confidence and skills to apply my marketing knowledge to real business challenges. Through the programme, I worked on a live consultancy project for Wavemind, conducting research, analysing findings, and presenting recommendations directly to the company&#8217;s Director. I undertook market research, analysed target audiences, explored partnership opportunities, and supported marketing activities designed to help the business better engage potential customers.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>One achievement I am particularly proud of was recommending customer testimonials on the website to build trust and credibility with potential customers. I also helped design and present this content and implemented it on Soul Float&#8217;s homepage; this is still there! Seeing one of my recommendations become a live feature on the website was incredibly rewarding, as it showed my work was creating real value for the business.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Overall, the experience let me contribute meaningful research and recommendations while building skills in communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professional presentation. Seeing my academic knowledge create a tangible impact in a real business setting has been one of the most rewarding aspects of the internship and has strengthened my confidence as I prepare to enter the graduate job market.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why would you recommend the Professional Pathways programme to other students?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>&#8220;I highly recommend the Professional Pathways programme to other students because it offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience, build professional skills, and learn directly from industry experts.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>One of the programme&#8217;s most valuable aspects was the chance to work on real business challenges rather than hypothetical case studies. Through projects with organisations such as Wavemind and my placement with Soul Float, I applied academic knowledge to real-world situations, developed meaningful recommendations, and saw the impact of my work.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>The programme also offered excellent networking opportunities and insights into different marketing career paths. Hearing from professionals about their experiences helped me better understand the industry and the skills required to succeed.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Most importantly, the experience increased my confidence. From conducting research and collaborating within a team to presenting findings to business leaders, I gained practical skills that will help me stand out in the graduate job market.
