22 April 2024Work has begun to design, construct and commission the UK Sustainable King Prawn Project’s commerical-scale production demonstrator. The demonstrator is being hosted and supported by our project partner Rastech Ltd – a unique sustainable aquaculture SME based in Scotland – at their R&D Eden Campus site at Guardbridge, nr. St Andrews, Scotland.
Our newest Postdoctoral researcher, Dr Rajesh Manchi, is located at Guardbridge for 2 years and will support the running of the demonstrator as well as carrying out a series of research experiments in our king prawn R&D area there. Rajesh is an expert the field of recirculating aquaculture systems and brings a wealth of expertise to our project.
Fresh, UK-grown king prawns will be available for purchase late summer 2024 through Eden Valley Prawns and tours of the demonstrator will also be available soon.
