Marine Ecosphysiology has been my research focus since my undergraduate research project. How marine invertebrates interact with their environment can inform us on a whole host of important sectors, from optimising aquaculture to understanding local and global change biology.
My industry/academia-blend PhD project (Building Armour From Water: Understanding Calcification Physiology to Optimise Conditions for Indoor King Prawn Aquaculture) was funded by The Collaborative Centre for Sustainable Aquaculture Futures (SAF), a joint initiative between the Centre for Environment, Aquaculture and Fisheries (CEFAS) and the University of Exeter.
Katharine now works as a Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the University of Hull.
