I work on plant/algal metabolism and their responses to environmental stress. I have a particular interest in the functions of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidants (with current focus on vitamin C, ergothioneine and ovothiol). I direct the Mass Spectrometry Facility which provides analyses of a wide range of biologically-relevant compounds.
