Rod Wilson

Project Lead and Professor of Integrative Animal Physiology, Biosciences, University of Exeter

Profile

Prof Rod Wilson is an animal physiologist with 33 years’ experience in comparative, integrative and environmental physiology, both in the laboratory and field, and with collaborations across 5 continents. His interests lie in how environmental variables (including water chemistry and diet) affect the physiology and performance of fish and aquatic invertebrates in relation to the sustainability of aquaculture production. He also studies the impact of environmental change (e.g., climate change and pollution) on wild populations in nature as well as the reverse process (e.g., how the physiological functions of aquatic animals can impact ocean biogeochemistry and global carbon cycles).
