WORKSHOP<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2018Intersection of Legal Data & AI\u2019 explores how the way legal data is stored, structured, and governed directly shapes what AI can (and cannot do) in legal practice. The workshop unpacks the landscape of legal data, from traditional on\u2011premise systems and document management platforms to modern cloud-based data lakes and warehouses, and explains why data architecture, metadata, and access models are foundational to responsible AI. Students will be given practical context on what accelerated cloud adoption across the legal sector, transforming how firms operate, collaborate, and ultimately become AI\u2011ready. The session maps the different categories of legal data, examine the role of knowledge management systems in structuring legal intelligence, and introduces modern AI techniques such as retrieval\u2011augmented generation (RAG). This workshop is open to all current students of Exeter Law School.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About Amanda Chaboryk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Amanda is a Program Director within Epiq\u2019s ECAR team (Epiq Class Actions and Restructuring) and an AI and Strategic Alliances Director in the firm\u2019s Legal Solutions group, working 50:50 across both teams. She leads large-scale UK collective actions, delivering complex claims administration programmes, while also help drive Epiq\u2019s legal AI strategy, building partnerships with leading technology providers and developing integrated solutions that enhance service delivery. Amanda works at the intersection of law and technology, with an interest on how emerging technologies can be used to facilitate access to justice.
