Citizens Advice Teignbridge Family Law Clinic – Volunteer Student Legal Assistants (3 Student Opportunities)<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Family Law Clinic provides free legal advice and casework support to client’s acting as litigants in person. We currently have three volunteer legal assistant opportunities available.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The role will include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Undertaking initial telephone calls with clients to gather information and prepare them for their appointment\/s
– Assisting with legal research <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Assisting with file management <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Shadowing appointments and assisting with attendance notes <\/p>\n\n\n\n

– Appointment booking and signposting when needed <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are accepting applications from third year law students, currently studying family law. This is an excellent opportunity to experience a wide range of family cases, and gain practical legal experience. We are seeking dedicated, self-motivated individuals, who have a passion for access to justice. We ask that you are regularly able to commit to one day or two half-days every on a bi-weekly basis. There is a compulsory two-day training session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Final Year Students studying\/who have studied family law<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Commitment: Regular commitment on a weekly or bi-weekly basis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
