A huge variety of research takes place within our Research Centres and Networks at Exeter Law School and to mark International Women’s Day we’re highlighting some of their work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/p>\n\n\n\n

European Centre for International Law<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n

ECIL<\/a> research is highly relevant to International Women’s Day and a number of experts have been committed to advancing and promoting women’s rights for several years. In her research on public international law in the context of international peace and security, Dr Faye Bird<\/a> innovatively turns to feminist, gendered and broader socio-legal methodologies to question international legal responses to situations of armed conflict. On the international criminal front, Dr Annika Jones<\/a> is currently working on a ground-breaking project investigating inclusivity and gender representation among victims and witnesses at the ICC while Prof. Caroline Fournet<\/a> is exploring the investigation and gathering of evidence in relation to sexual and gender-based violence as mass violence crimes. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Centre for Commercial and Corporate<\/strong> Law<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the CCCL,<\/a> we consider diversity a foundational value of the research, research-led teaching and leadership work we engage with. By taking the path less travelled, we challenge preconceptions and stereotypes to create and maintain a safe space for all those interested in advancing scholarly pursuits in commercial and corporate law to generate positive social impact. For example, the centre will be hosting a book launch on\u00a0International Economic Law: New Approaches<\/a>\u00a0on Wed 20 March 2024<\/strong>. This edited collection features original ideas in a manner that allows us to reflect and appreciate different facets and trajectories of significance and rigour in legal studies, as well as appreciating the wealth of methodological and stylistic preferences of emerging legal scholars from all five continents. Human Rights and Democracy Forum<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Human Rights and Democracy Forum<\/a> together with Dignity & Democracy Blog’s editorial team are pleased to invite you to mark IWD by listening to a special broadcast. It is a staff-student collaboration and is produced  with XpressionFM, the award-winning University Campus radio. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Centre for European Legal Studies<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does consumer gender influence the understanding of a consumer right to repair and whether consumers make claims about defective products? Professor Joasia Luzak<\/a> together with Joerg Weber from Exeter Business School and colleagues from Leiden Law School surveyed consumers in the UK and in the Netherlands to find out.
