It is aimed at developing and fostering an interest in law reform. Students and pupils are invited to submit essays making the case to reform English, Welsh and European law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Timeline and key dates<br><strong>24 October 2024, 17:00: competition closes<br>Early December 2024: prize winners announced <\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prizes<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition prizes are available&nbsp;in the following categories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The winner: \u00a34,000,\u00a0and their essay published on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.counselmagazine.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Counsel magazine&#8217;s website<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Runner-up: \u00a32,500\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best GDL entry: \u00a31,500<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Runner-up GDL entry: \u00a31,000<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Highly commended award: 2 x \u00a3500<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The organisers hope that the prize money will be used to contribute to the legal education or legal career of the prize winners.
