{"id":3681,"date":"2024-09-04T14:11:17","date_gmt":"2024-09-04T14:11:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/lawbulletin\/?p=3681"},"modified":"2024-09-04T14:12:39","modified_gmt":"2024-09-04T14:12:39","slug":"university-advocacy-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.exeter.ac.uk\/lawbulletin\/2024\/09\/04\/university-advocacy-day\/","title":{"rendered":"University Advocacy Day"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saturday 12 October 2024, 12.30pm \u2013 7pm<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Free | Gray\u2019s Inn, London<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The University Advocacy Day is a fantastic opportunity for students who are considering a career at the Bar of England and Wales.<\/strong> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Apply by 5pm Tuesday 10 September<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size\"><strong>What will you do on the day?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Hear what qualities leading barristers think make an effective advocate, and how you can become one.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Put your own advocacy skills into practice and receive feedback from barristers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Engage and network with like-minded students and Inn Members of all seniorities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-light-green-cyan-background-color has-background has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Before applying, please note the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Places are limited. We will confirm whether your application has been successful after the deadline.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We receive more applications than places. If you are not offered a place, this does not represent a judgement on your suitability to this profession. Do not let this put you off applying for a future Advocacy Day or from pursuing a career at the Bar.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Inn will subsidise travel.
