Congratulations to all the finalists in our recent Client Interviewing Competition. If you’ve never considered taking part in the Exeter Law School Moots or Competitions, here’s a little insight to explain how it helps you develop important professional and personal skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Client interviewing was an incredible experience giving us an insight into how the legal practice truly works. The detailed feedback from practising lawyers in the field was invaluable for honing essential skills and preparing for a successful legal career, where client interaction is inevitable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We highly recommend this competition to anyone wanting to develop their practical abilities- it\u2019s a rewarding challenge that could even lead to progression to the regional competition.<\/p>\nWinners Atticus and Renee<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Throughout the competition process you are helped by the Law school to improve your advocacy skills through coaching and practice. As you progress in the competitions academic staff members, as well as barristers and solicitors, help you improve your ability to construct legal argument and develop your advocacy skills through workshops and practice moots.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mooting provides students with the opportunities to develop and practice their advocacy skills during the early stages of their legal and academic careers.\u00a0It also provides the chance for students to experience working in a practical way with case law application and hearing bundles, encouraging responsibility and the development of a professional work ethic.<\/p>\nLindsey Connett, Director of Mooting, Negotiating and Client Interviewing<\/strong><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
