Legal Cheek<\/strong><\/em> is coming to Exeter for the latest in its 2025 series of IN-PERSON Secrets to Success events \u2013 run in association with <\/strong>The University of Law<\/u><\/strong><\/a>(ULaw) \u2013 to help students boost their commercial awareness ahead of vacation schemes and training contract interviews.<\/strong>
The event takes place on Wednesday 26 February<\/strong> in the Amory Building at the University of Exeter\u2019s Streatham Campus, and features lawyers from Ashfords<\/u><\/strong><\/a>, Michelmores<\/u><\/strong><\/a> and Trowers & Hamlins<\/u><\/strong><\/a>, alongside a careers expert from ULaw. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speakers will share the secrets to their own success, telling the stories of their career journeys and advising students on how they can best position themselves to obtain training contracts with leading law firms. Also up for discussion will be the key commercial awareness topics that students need to have on their radar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The speakers:
\u2022 Laura Reeve<\/strong>, partner in the construction team and training principal at Ashfords
\u2022 Matthew Rundle<\/strong>, associate in the real estate team at Trowers & Hamlins
\u2022 Susan Starr<\/strong>, campus manager at ULaw Exeter and former barrister
\u2022 Further speakers to be announced<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the Question Time-style discussion, which will be chaired by a Legal Cheek<\/em> journalist, there will be networking over drinks and snacks with the speakers, current trainees from the firms and members of their graduate recruitment teams. It\u2019s a great opportunity not only to meet the firms but also to check out ULaw Exeter, situated at the heart of the University of Exeter\u2019s picturesque Streatham campus.
