Exeter Marrow, the student branch of the charity Anthony Nolan, are holding an event in the Forum on Monday 17 March <\/strong>to encourage students and colleagues aged 16-30 to join the national stem cell register and potentially save a life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Joining the register is easy and just involves completing a quick online form and taking a simple cheek swab. The stand will be in the Forum between 10:00 and 16:00.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s hoped the event will help more patients find a stem cell match, patients like the father of Exeter MA Law student, Issey Charlesworth. Her Dad, Philip, has a rare blood cancer and his best chance of survival is a stem cell transplant. Unfortunately, there’s no suitable match on the stem cell register at the moment and so Issey and her family are encouraging more people to join the register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Exeter Marrow has held 111 recruitment events over the past 21 years, which has led to more than 3,300 Exeter students joining the stem cell register.
