3rd Year Placement Experience Talk

Alex Solomides is a 3rd Year Student on the 4 Year Law with Business with Professional Placement Programme. He is currently on Placement with a Law firm specialising in Noise Induced Hearing Loss claims for members of the Military and has kindly agreed to return to Penryn to speak about his experience.

This session will take place in Exchange Red at 13:00 on Wednesday 30 March.  Alex is keen to share his insights into life in a Law firm.  The session will be particularly helpful for those applying for Placements as well as students on the 3 year programme who will be thinking about their future career options.

IWD Speaker – Hogan Lovells International LLP Associate Amoetsoe Mkwena

For International Women’s Day this year, we are celebrating the UN Women theme ‘Gender equality for a sustainable tomorrow’ with a range of activity and events taking place the week beginning Monday 7 March, starting with a Women of Influence speaker series event with Hogan Lovells International LLP Associate, alumna and Council member Amoetsoe Mkwena on Monday 7 March 12:00 – 13:00.

Virtual Law Mock Interviews – with Michelmores LLP

Friday 18 March | Online: 10:00am – 4:45pm GMT

Virtual Law Mock Interviews with Partners from Michelmores LLP. These mock interviews are exclusively for Law students. These mock interviews count towards the Exeter Leaders Award. Each session is 30 minutes long, with 20 minutes for the interview followed by 10 minutes for feedback. Questions will be competency based but will be tailored to those wishing to enter the legal profession.

ACE: the Assessment Centre Experience

On either 9 or 10 March 2022, 2pm, online

ACE gives you the chance to practice assessment centre activities like those used by law firms during the recruitment process.  All tasks are brand new for 2022 – and you’ll also get the chance to have a speed interview with feedback with a member of the BPP team.  You will also hear from a panel of representatives from a variety of firms, including Latham & Watkins, Osborne Clarke and Walker Morris, who will discuss recruitment, the application process, and answer any questions you may have.

The Inn – Student Open Day

The Inn is hosting a Student Open Day on Saturday 26 March for any undergraduate considering a career at the Bar. There will be a limited in-person audience selected via ballot, but the session will be recorded and broadcast online and a film produced for the website at a later date.

InnSight Day at Lincoln’s Inn

Join us for an insight into the Bar where you will learn about the Inns of Court, scholarships, Qualifying Sessions and more, as well as a talk from a barrister, or recent student about their experience studying for the bar. There will be an opportunity to ask questions. Free to attend and open to all.


University Afternoons and Dinners at Lincoln’s Inn

The Inn is very pleased to once again be able to host our University Afternoons and Dinners where students will get the opportunity to hear from barristers about life at the Bar and dine at the Inn alongside fellow students and members of the Inn.

Due to limited places we do not allow individual students to sign up for these events; Please contact your University’s Law faculty to register your interest in attending.

For those who cannot get an in person ticket we will be streaming the talks about life at the Bar live on Wednesday 6 April.
