Welcome to the Larger Bodies in Radiography (LBinRAD) Study Website
This website showcases the Larger Bodies in Radiography Project (LBinRAD), led by researchers from the University of Exeter Medical Imaging Department. We invite you to explore the project, learn about our findings, and meet the team behind the research.
LBinRAD was established in response to growing evidence that people with larger bodies—including individuals who are wider, taller, or broader than average, and not solely those who identify as plus-size—can experience challenges and inequalities when accessing healthcare services.
Over the course of the project, we worked with patients, practitioners, and stakeholders to better understand these experiences and to identify opportunities for improving radiography practice and patient care. Building on this work, we are now seeking further funding to develop and evaluate educational interventions that support inclusive, equitable, and person-centred radiography services.
