MACLOUD
Marine Cloud Brightening
MACLOUD is a directed grant from the Natural Environment Research Council, tasked with better understanding the impacts of Marine Cloud Brightening (MCB) across a range of scales.
The project is led by the University of Exeter, and includes collaborative work with the Universities of Leeds, Manchester, Oxford and Reading.
MACLOUD will use a range of models from parcel-models through, large eddy simulation models, numerical weather prediction models, right through to fully coupled Earth System Models. Work-packages include
1) Fundamental understanding through explicit modelling
2) High-resolution modelling
3) Global simulations with Earth System Models
4) Assessing the physical impacts and climate response
5) Impacts on the Earth System components.
