I’
I’m still a bit confused about how to deal with the oblique-stroke punctuation mark, shown as / in the very early wills.
I originally transcribed them all as / with a space either side. Now that I’m checking and correcting the HTR-generated transcriptions, I see that the software has transcribed some as commas and others as full stops. I’m generally leaving them as transcribed, and have not attempted to make them consistent, nor to change them back to oblique strokes. But is that what’s wanted?
I imagine this is very much a secondary issue for the project as a whole, but would welcome any guidance on how it should be done. Thanks.
Hi Judy, Thanks for your question - yes that's completely fine - there will be some inconsistencies with things like punctuation, but these are things that will be ironed out at the next stage. We will continue refining the HTR model and there's no need to go back and change anything you've done.
Good news, thanks Emily.
