Sam (he\/him) is a Postdoctoral Research Assistant with the Blower Lab<\/a> at Durham University and is funded through the MultiDefence project.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Our lab utilises a range of structural biology, biochemical, microbiology and molecular biology techniques to study phage resistance systems and toxin\/antitoxin systems. Over the course of my PhD, I used these methods to characterise the BREX bacteriophage resistance system and provide novel structural insight into the molecular mechanisms of phage defence and I hope to continue this work as part of the project. In my spare time I am an enthusiastic footballer and a less enthusiastic runner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
