In 2020, she commenced a PhD under the supervision of Dr. Ivan Matic (University Paris Cit\u00e9). Her studies focused on <em>E. coli<\/em> metabolism and physiology. Currently, as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Exeter, Maureen\u2019s research concentrates on understanding the interplay between prokaryotic defense systems and mobile genetic elements, such as AMR genes, especially at the single-cell level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Maureen (she\/her) is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Pagliara Lab at the University of Exeter, and is funded through the MultiDefence project.
