Staging Curriculum Change at the University of Reading
The story of curriculum transformation at the University of Reading began in 2020 in the wake of Covid. We knew that we were going to emerge from lockdown in to a very different context for HE. Our primary goal was to enhance student experience; tackling long-standing systemic issues raised by students- like the volume and distribution of their assessment. Even before the current financial pressures facing the sector it was clear that depreciation in the value of the tuition fee meant that we also had to look carefully at what we were doing with the resource we had.
