Therefore, the RecoverED team have set up a PPI group of people with lived experience of <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.exeter.ac.uk\/recovered\/glossary\/\"><strong>delirium<\/strong><\/a> and\/or dementia or have cared for people with the conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The study team work closely with Innovations in Dementia to facilitate our PPI work. The PPI group will meet regularly throughout the lifecycle of the study, and have been instrumental in providing feedback on the early design of the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.exeter.ac.uk\/recovered\/glossary\/\"><strong>intervention<\/strong><\/a>, developing the Participant Information Sheets (PIS) and choosing the final RecoverED logo design.<\/p>\n<p>Over the course of the study, we will continue to work closely with our PPI group to ensure the study stays relevant to those who have experienced delirium as well as their family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>To oversee the running of the study on a regular basis we will invite a PPI representative to join our Study Management Group (SMG) and we have an independent lay representative on our Programme Steering Committee (PSC).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) is an essential part of NIHR research, as research that reflects the needs and views of the public is more likely to produce results that can be used to improve health and social care.
