Folk.us was a funded research programme that ran from 2000 until 2014.
Our aim was to support and develop patient, service user and carer involvement in health and social care research activities to inform, influence and guide all stages of the research process. We also supported patients, service users and carers to design and undertake their own research.
Folk.us did a wide range of things including giving advice and requesting system changes. The presentation runs through some of our activities and who the key people were.
Folk.us developed and designed training on how to involve people. You are welcome to use our training slides, but it would nice if you would mention you got them from us!
Folk.us funded or joint funded and supported some small research projects, here are the articles from each of the project, by kind permission of the Journals (it was before open access was a thing!)
Past Caring was a Folk.us funded project fully supported by us that came from members of our Folk.us Advisory Group. It was led by Carers about Carers experience after their loved one had died. Past Caring is perhaps the project which meant the most to us.
Here are some of our publications. We just like the bios from our 2010 Conference as an example of bios!
