Mollie graduated from Exeter Law School in 2018 and was awarded the School of Law Prize for graduating top of the 2018 LLB cohort. Mollie was also awarded four separate academic awards during her undergraduate career, including three Dean\u2019s Commendations and the Land Law Prize 2017.\u00a0 Mollie was subsequently awarded a 1+3 ESRC studentship, graduating with a Masters degree in Socio-Legal Research in 2019. She is currently undertaking a PhD in Law and her preliminary findings have received media attention in the UK and abroad.<\/p>\n
Research Interests<\/b><\/h4>\n
Mollie\u2019s interests lie within the intersections of law, politics, philosophy, and power. This includes issues of social justice, human rights, international law, constitutional law, and laws affecting the LGBTQ+ community. Mollie\u2019s doctoral research is an empirical socio-legal project investigating legal gender recognition with a specific focus on the Gender Recognition Act 2004 and the non-binary community. Mollie has collected quantitative and qualitative data using an online survey and interviews with the trans and non-binary community. The aim of the project is to conduct a detailed analysis of legal gender recognition provisions and explore possible options for reform which could increase the number of people currently applying for legal gender recognition.<\/p>\n
