Laura is a PhD Candidate in <\/span>Advanced Quantitative Methods <\/span>in Social Sciences<\/span> (CLES\/ <\/span>Human Geography<\/span>)<\/span> at the University of Exeter, exploring judicial training in the field of asylum and refugee law. In a<\/span> mixed-methods <\/span>evaluation <\/span>approach she seeks to understand how training supports judges in the task of <\/span>adjudicating appeals in the UK<\/span>‘<\/span>s First-tier I<\/span>mmigration and <\/span>A<\/span>sylum <\/span>Chamber (<\/span>FtTIAC<\/span>)<\/span>. She is a sociologist by training (MA Newcastle University, BA University of Mannheim) and has previous work experience in policy evaluation at the German Institute for Development Evaluation (<\/span>DEval<\/span>) in Bonn, Germany.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
