SHArD 3D Laboratory
Carly Ameen (she/her) is the Technical Director of the SHArD 3D Lab. She is an archaeological scientist specialising in bioarchaeology and the application of geometric morphometrics (GMM) to the study of archaeological materials. A member of the Centre for HumAnE Bioarchaeology, some of her most significant work has been on exploring the anthropogenic evolution of our closest domestic companions, namely dogs, and horses, as well as expanding methodological approaches to digital heritage.
Laura Evis (she/her) is the Commercial Director of the SHArD 3D Lab. She is a forensic bioarchaeologist who specialises in the development of innovative techniques and strategies to improve the identification and recovery of evidence in both archaeological and forensic casework. This ensures reliability and therefore admissibility of evidence-based interpretations in both legal and archaeological settings.
Sophie Beckett (she/her) is a lecturer in Archaeology specalising in Human Osteoarchaeology, Forensic Anthropology and Applied Archaeological Science with particular focus on biological minerals (such as dental calculus, urinary stones and burnt bone), disarticulated human skeletal remains, osteometrics and, the application of computed tomography (CT) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis within Archaeology. She has experience of management of large multi-user laboratories, commercial analysis in XRD and CT and, working in the UK and abroad within mass fatality incident response.
