Hey there, newbie! Taking a break from cooking today and thinking of ordering food instead? Here are some top delicious and affordable food spots I’ve tried in Exeter:
Feeling fishy?
Fish and Chips in the City Centre serves a generous portion of cod and tasty fries for only £7.50. What’s great is that it’s not too oily, and you can add as much mayonnaise or ketchup as you like!
In the mood for Mediterranean?
Comptoir Libanais in Guildhall has mouth-watering dishes, with appetizers starting at just £4.95. You can try a range of appetizers for under £10. I even got a free hummus plate just for filling out a survey!
Craving an Asian noodle box?
Chopstix in the City Centre is a great spot that offers noodle and rice boxes starting from just £6.89. You can mix and match with rice, noodles, add-on vegetables, or even sweet and sour chicken.
Want to spice up your taste buds?
Pepe’s on Sidwell Street serves one of the best chicken and beef meals I’ve ever had. Starting from £5.99, their portions are plentiful for the price, and the sauces are absolutely delectable. Gourmet Peri Peri on Sidwell also serves meal boxes starting at £6.99.
Perhaps some pasta and pizza?
Zizzi’s on Gandy Street is the place to be. Their pasta and pizza dishes come in a variety of flavours. Plus, from Monday to Thursday, you can get a 30% discount on your order. That’s right, 30% off!
Fancy a British breakfast?
Head over to The Imperial next to Streatham Campus and check out their breakfast menu. Breakfast platters start from just £2.99 and are both filling and satisfying. You can also order coffee or tea and get unlimited refills!
Kebab kind of mood?
Try the German Doner Kebab sandwich in the City Centre for just £5.99. It’s chewy, flavourful, and big enough to fill you up!
Looking for a quick and cheap meal?
Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, and Tesco in the City Centre all offer meal deals ranging from £3 to £5. A meal deal includes a meal, a snack, and a drink of your choice. It’s quick, convenient, and budget-friendly.
Still on campus?
Try ordering from the campus food shops and restaurants. The Ram Bar at Streatham Campus and Cross Keys at St Luke’s offer tasty, healthy, and affordable hot meals on weekdays.
And finally, here are three amazing tips that helped me save money:
- Always ask for a student discount or special offers. You’ll be surprised how much you can save just by asking!
- Download Student Beans or UNiDAYS. They offer deals on everything from food, clothes, and other essential items.
- Ask a classmate or friend to join you. You can share big platters, split costs, and it’s more fun!
Make sure to bring your student ID with you and happy eating!
