Staff-Student Conference, 2024

Congratulations to all presenters and participants at our annual staff student conference!
After an inspirational keynote by Professor David Hall, who challenged us to imagine possible futures for education which are not constrained by current structures and systems, we enjoyed a range of nearly 70 workshops, presentations, lightning talks and posters under the overarching theme Why Educational Research Matters.
Topics ranged from issues of school justice, including inclusive education, school-resistant students, refugee children, mental health and educational policy directions, to creativity, dialogic learning, technology in education and teacher engagement with and in research. In a truly international conference, we heard studies of education in countries across the globe, including Tanzania, China, Nigeria, Qatar, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Sweden, and the United Arab Emirates.
With huge thanks to the organising committee, led by our Senior Tutor Sarah Cole.
