We’re always looking for ways to better support students, both academically and pastorally. One recent project, funded by the Exeter Education Incubator initiative, involves working with students to review how we teach about academic skills in the department.
Students on our campus MA and MEd programmes were invited to apply for paid part-time internships on the project. Here is what the 3 students selected said about taking part:
I believe that this project will enable me to learn how to communicate with others and familiarise myself with the project research model of England university, which will provide me a good foundation for my future career. It is also one of the few opportunities we have as students to be directly involved in and influence the university curriculum. – Han Zhang

I am excited to see where the project goes because it is not often as students that we are directly involved in the creation or adaptation of a module, even ones designed to offer us support. I think it it’s an amazing project and it is exciting to be involved in expanding such an important module across the university, I know it would have made such a difference to me as an undergraduate! – Rebecca French
As an intern on the Skills for Success for All project, I believe this initiative is crucial due to its emphasis on supporting and enhancing the academic experience of international students. This hands-on involvement not only enriches my learning but also sharpens my research skills for my final dissertation, making it an invaluable opportunity in my academic journey. – Huyen Ngyuen
