SPACE-Gov I attendants at Westminster Hall, Palace of Westminster

On 23rd February 2023, SPACE-GOV: Space Sustainability and Governance was launched at the Palace of Westminster. The event was sponsored by Lord Devon – a member of the House of Lords. The meeting brought together policy stakeholders from the UN, governments, as well as national and European space agencies to provide advisory input to the project, aimed to facilitate the future development of innovative solutions to mitigate compounded risks amidst growing geopolitical and institutional uncertainty.

The group explored risks and potentials associated with the burgeoning space sector, including the interplay between global and national space governance, supply chain disruptions and resilience, space security in times of geopolitical turbulence, and more.

Findings from SPACE-Gov will inform future discussions on the responsible and sustainable growth of the space sector.
