We are pleased to announce that Camilla Forbes<\/a> has been awarded (with no corrections) a PhD by publication which explores Healthy lifestyle promotion in secondary schools<\/a>. Camilla currently works on two SPHR funded projects: \u2018Understanding the impact of mandatory calorie labelling in out of home food environments\u2019 within the Healthy Places Healthy Planet programme<\/a> and \u2018Innovations in Qualitative Research Methods\u2019 <\/strong>within the Areas for Research Innovation programme<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Public health specialist with Torbay Council, Claire Tatton<\/a>, has been awarded an NIHR Doctoral Local Authority Fellowship<\/a> exploring how smoking cessation services delivered in pregnancy in England can produce equity promoting outcomes for underserved groups. Claire’s secondment with us will end in December before she takes up her DLAF in January – which she will undertake whilst continuing in her role with the council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kath Wilkinson<\/a> has secured an NIHR Doctoral Fellowship<\/a>, beginning in March 2026, researching tailored parenting support for families facing disadvantage and mental health challenges. Kath joined the SPHR funded VoySES<\/a> team earlier this year working on the ‘Jobs, young people and health’ project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Daniel Mutanda<\/a> has been awarded University of Exeter funding<\/a> to undertake a PhD titled ‘Developing youth voice in cross-context mental health impact assessment for urban environments.’ Daniel completed a SPHR Pre-doctoral Fellowship earlier this year and is currently working on four SPHR funded projects: ‘Qualitative case study and evaluability assessment of local authority cities of sanctuary – pathways to health and how we can assess them’ within the Emergent Public Health Priorities programme<\/a>; ‘Discrimination and health’ within the VoySES<\/a> team; ‘Helping at risk young people engage with community assets to support mental health’ within the Public Mental Health programme<\/a>; and ‘Innovation in involvement and engagement’ within the Areas for Research Innovation programme<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
