As part of her role in providing insights into her long-standing experience working in the UK Government defence and security sectors, the intelligence community and homeland security, both nationally and internationally, a talk was given to both under-graduate and post-graduate International Relations students. The President of the Society commented afterwards, “ What stood out to me personally was the necessary skill set that Frances Tammer spoke about. Specifically, as a civil servant, one must be able to decompress information considerably. This seems to be because the recipients of information, decision-makers, often operate in a very fast paced environment.“
