Delphi study

July 2025

Building on the surveys, reviews, and interviews we’ve done as part of the 4S Study, we are currently working to co-produce ‘gold-standard’ principles of practice around self-harm and suicide prevention and support following a suicide for organisations working with young people.  We’re doing this through a Delphi study: a series of surveys with panels of experts that aim to get agreement or consensus on a topic or idea by the end.

Our expert panels include people who are:

  1. Professional or voluntary workers, who provide suicide/self-harm prevention and/or support to schools and other youth settings
  2. School, college or youth setting staff members (including voluntary workers) with responsibility for safeguarding, well-being or pastoral care
  3. International or UK-based academics or UK-based clinicians specialising in suicide/self-harm prevention and/or support following a suicide with young people.
