In a statement by Professor Sir Keith Burnett CBE FRS, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sheffield and President of the Science Council said:
“The Higher Education sector has been crying out for solutions to the many problems affecting the Professional Technician highlighted in reports from the Gatsby Foundation, the Science Council and other organisations. I can now announce that a team working at the National Centre for Professional Technicians here in Sheffield is producing a definitive toolkit, which will address these issues for the employer and the technical community. This work, funded by HEFCE, will make a massive contribution to our understanding of the roles and contribution the Professional Technicians make in the Higher Education sector.”
