In a statement by Professor Sir Keith Burnett CBE FRS, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Sheffield and President of the Science Council said:

I can now announce that a team working at the National Centre for Professional Technicians here in Sheffield is producing a definitive toolkit, which will address these issues for the employer and the technical community. This work, funded by HEFCE, will make a massive contribution to our understanding of the roles and contribution the Professional Technicians make in the Higher Education sector.ā€
